            Testimonials

"My son was an at risk student destined to drop out, he felt overwhelmed and lost.  He felt so socially awkward that he started to hurt himself and expressed suicide.  I didn't know how I could help him and reached out to the community for support.  After several attempts to get help, the doctors and therapist making money off my family thru medical insurance shunned us away and made more problems for us, we were worst off than when we were before being referred to them.  I didn't know what to do or where to turn.  Finally!  We were told about this program at the community center and joined free of charge.  The staff welcomed us with open and understanding arms, they immediately started to advocate for my son and I at his school, IEP meetings, and confronting and calling out teachers that were bullies and had it out to make our lives even harder.  After one month in their program, I seen a change in my son that astonished our whole family.  He had more confidence because he seen the work being put in on his behalf for success, he witnessed them fighting to make sure he stayed in school and stood up to teachers who had been put in place to discourage him.  He raved about all the etiquettes he received.  He sat up straight, he looked you right in the eyes while conversing, he helped around the house more, he helped at school, he started volunteering at the Rescue Mission feeding the homeless and hungry,  he helped his team win the big game, he got a girlfriend and treated her with the upmost respect, pulling out chairs, opening doors and took up hand dancing that he excels at.  His grades rose and even though he didn't want to graduate he did and walked across the stage on commencement day, even though the school gave him such a hard time, in fact, he graduated late because they lied and said he didn't have enough credits.  When the staff at TBIM heard this they got right on them and found out that he did and does have all the credits to graduate.   They had to honor it but made sure to get one last one in by not even listing his name in the graduates book.  He did it!!  We did it!!  We moved on from that tragedy.  He then joined the culinary school graduated and joined the culinary union.  He was not left alone by this heavenly program, they involved him in the electrical, computer, and civil engineering program that got him hired into the stage and production union were he thrives even more, he is always excited about what star they are helping to produce a Las Vegas show.  He now has his own family a wife and son and thru the family planning/parenting for your future classes he learned how to properly care for children from infant to adulthood and real life situation simulations, he is an Awesome dad and husband!  He is still a part of this organization and a member doing research to help pass the torch.  They also supported me as a woman, single parent and member of the community, they supported me more than my own family, who shunned us on the fact that my son was disabled.  We went to church together, they counseled me, sometimes I just needed someone to relate and talk to, sometimes I needed help getting places and needed food and a hot meal, they were there for me and my family.  I became a better person myself and my hopes and dreams of having people in my corner had came to light with Transitioning boys Into MEN!!   Thank you!  God Bless You!  I donate every chance I get because I know how important they are to my family and the community and I know they are widely NEEDED.
